Doug has been working in architecture since 2000, beginning as a work-study student prior to earning his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oregon in 2003. He completed his licensure requirements while working with Nagao Pacific Architects in Eugene, where he gained extensive experience across commercial, civic, institutional, and residential projects, often serving as project lead.
Licensed in 2012, he established his own practice with a commitment to thoughtful design, technical rigor, and responsive client service. His work has included collaborating with facility managers on complex, ongoing projects, navigating construction budgets with care, serving as an owner’s representative for nonprofit organizations, and coordinating projects across multiple jurisdictions.
With deep ties to the McKenzie River area, He believes architecture should reflect both landscape and community. He currently leads a small, dedicated team that allows him to remain directly engaged in every project while ensuring the focus, coordination, and attention to detail each client deserves.
In addition to his professional work, he serves as a board member of the McKenzie Community Land Trust and the building committee of the McKenzie valley Long Term Recovery Group. He has contributed consulting efforts related to Holiday Farm Fire recovery, reinforcing his commitment to resilient, community-centered design.
